Ames Historical Society The establishment of the historical society started with the opportunity to save the first schoolhouse built in Ames. Ames Community Theater Actors The mission of ACTORS is to provide leadership in the performing arts for the people of Central Iowa through live theatrical presentations and educational opportunities for all ages. Brunnier Art Museum at Iowa State University The Brunnier Art Museum is the state's only accredited museum emphasizing a decorative arts collection. Octagon Center for the Arts Octagon offers more than 125 handcrafted works of art by local and regional artists. It also hosts the festival each year with over 100 artists and 2 stages with performing artists.

Ames Main St. District Ames “old town” shopping district also known as the cultural district, there are one-of-a-kind stores to from Antiques, to toys, to furniture stores, bookstores, jewelry, and clothing. The Creek Restaurant One of the very best dining experiences in Story County.
